Jemma received her BA from Wellesley College and PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from Princeton University, where she taught for four years. She also studied art at the Université Paris-Sorbonne. Much of her creative work is cross-genre and includes visual poetry, ekphrasis, and collage. Her poems, paintings, and photographs have appeared or are forthcoming in The Journal, Fugue, Iron Horse Literary Review, Blood Orange Review, Lunch Ticket, Barzakh Magazine, Permafrost, Writer’s Foundry Review, EcoTheo Review, The Ilanot Review, The Fourth River, Okay Donkey, Thin Air Magazine, Canyon Voices Literary and Art Magazine, FEED Lit Mag, Feral: A Journal of Poetry and Art, Young Ravens Literary Review, Ethel, Literary North, and in group exhibitions throughout the Northeast. Her poems were recently selected as finalists for the Iron Horse Literary Review 2022 PhotoFinish and the Orison Books Best Spiritual Literature Award in Poetry.
